Blackmagic Camera App 3.2 Update
Blackmagic just released version 3.2 of the Blackmagic Camera App and while this update focuses mainly on stability improvements, iPhone filmmakers still get three important new features that improve speed, workflow, and broadcast capability. Let’s break down what’s new.
Live Streaming

iOS finally gets native live streaming.
You can now go live directly from the Blackmagic Camera App to:
- YouTube
- Twitch
- Vimeo
How to set it up:
1️⃣ Go to Settings → Live Streaming
2️⃣ Copy your stream key from YouTube/Twitch/Vimeo desktop
3️⃣ Paste into the app
4️⃣ Choose server: Primary / Secondary / Automatic
5️⃣ Pick your quality preset (High, Medium, or Low)
When streaming:
- You’ll see an On-Air indicator
- A data rate counter displays real-time bitrate
Important limitations:
- Title, description, and thumbnail must be updated on desktop
- Streams pause if you minimize or leave the app
- Live streaming cannot run with Remote Camera Control
Still — huge step for mobile broadcasting workflows.
New Quick Access to Media Storage

You can now tap the drive icon at the bottom of the screen to jump directly to Media Settings.
No more digging through menus.
And the app is better at detecting external drives:
- Instant recognition when plugging in
- Automatic switch to internal storage if drive disconnects
- Remembers your last chosen drive when reconnected
Multi-View Monitoring in Remote Mode

Remote camera users get a great upgrade:
Multi-view split-screen monitoring for multiple camera feeds.
Perfect for:
- Multi-camera interviews
- Live performance setups
- Solo cinematographers monitoring B-cams
Final Thoughts
While the Blackmagic Camera App 3.2 Update isn’t a giant feature overhaul…
It delivers three meaningful improvements:
- Live streaming to major platforms
- Faster external SSD workflow
- Professional multi-camera monitoring
Blackmagic continues to push the iPhone closer to a true cinema camera — one update at a time.
